At Assisting Hands Home Care, we are proud to serve the senior citizens of our community in Schaumburg, IL and the surrounding areas with quality home care. While we have been fortunate to still provide the care our clients need during the pandemic, we have sorely missed being able to participate in community events and meeting with members of our community in person.
We were very excited to once again be part of the Annual Flag Day Event in person that took place on June 3, 2022. Assisting Hands Home Care of Schaumburg is a proud sponsor and volunteer for this event as we feel that it is very important to celebrate Flag Day and honor the dedication and sacrifices made by current service members and veterans of the U.S. armed forces.
The Flag Day Event was hosted by the Village of Schaumburg and Community Nutrition Network at Chandler’s Restaurant in Schaumburg, IL. This event is put on for the Barn Senior Program in Schaumburg which is a community center for local seniors. The Barn Senior Program gives seniors a place to socialize, and they provide them with food and coordinate community events, such as the Flag Day Event.
The Flag Day Event featured a flag hoisting ceremony by the American Legion, guest speakers from the local government, lunch catered by Chandler’s Restaurant, entertainment from Sounds of Time, and bingo and raffles. We were very happy to attend this event once again and spend some time with members of our community in person for the first time in a couple of years.
